How Returning to Our Senses can Help us Bounce Back

Each of us lives in a body. We also experience trauma, toxic stress, and hardship in ways that are specific to each of us. Because we know that trauma begins in the body, we can address it at its root and use an awareness of our bodies and senses to begin to build resilience. Resilience doesn't mean recovering fully--it just means being well-resourced to handle hardship when it comes. In this introductory and interactive workshop, we will return to our senses together to build our resources and learn some simple practices for bouncing back. We will discuss the connections between our senses and emotions; share and learn from our own experiences; and leave with a basic tool kit to return to your senses for resilience. This workshop is open to anyone interested in building resilience for themselves or others. No previous experience is necessary.
